Medical safety in Turkey: what Zynea checks before partnering with a clinic

Going abroad for surgery raises a legitimate question every serious patient has to ask: how do you know the chosen clinic is really safe? At Zynea, we ask it too — before you, at your s

Level 1 — Document verification

Before any on-site visit, we carry out a full verification of the clinic's official documents: operating license issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health, national and international accreditations, surgeons' diplomas and professional affiliations, medical liability insurance. These documents are verified against official sources — not based on copies provided by the clinic itself.

Level 2 — On-site visit and audit

No clinic joins the Zynea network without a prior on-site visit by our team. This visit follows a structured protocol covering hygiene and sterilization conditions, equipment quality (acquisition dates, maintenance, certifications), anesthesia and emergency-management protocols, the traceability chain for implantable materials, and the conditions for welcoming and communicating with international patients. We also meet the surgeons in person — not just the sales director. We ask technical questions, we review anonymized patient files, and we assess the quality of the post-operative follow-up that is actually practiced.

Level 3 — Tracking Zynea patient outcomes

A clinic that joins our network is subject to continuous monitoring of our patients' outcomes. At 3, 6, and 12 months, we collect structured evaluations on care quality, clinical follow-up, and overall satisfaction. Any degradation of results — even partial — triggers an immediate partnership review.

Level 4 — No-notice withdrawal clause

Our agreement with each partner clinic includes an explicit clause allowing Zynea to terminate the partnership without notice in case of breach of the defined standards, a clinical incident that was not properly managed, or loss of an accreditation. Our reputation is tied to the quality of our partners — we can't afford to maintain a degraded partnership.

Zero tolerance

On the 10 mandatory criteria, no exception is possible. A clinic that fails to meet one of them does not join the Zynea network — regardless of its commercial reputation or its rates.

What happens in the event of a complication after your return

It's the question every patient dreads asking — and yet it's the most important one. Here is Zynea's answer, straight up.

Minor complications

Unusual pain, slower-than-expected healing, a question about your post-operative medication: your Zynea coordinator is reachable by phone, WhatsApp, or email within 24 hours. If needed, a teleconsultation with the surgeon is scheduled within 48 hours. If a local doctor needs to step in, we share your full medical file with them in your language.

Serious complications

In the event of a confirmed medical complication linked to the procedure — infection, reaction to materials, documented clinically unsatisfactory result — Zynea coordinates the response with the partner clinic. Depending on the nature of the complication, this can include a revision surgery in Turkey (covered by the clinic) or a referral to a specialist in Belgium with full file transfer. We do not leave you alone to face a foreign clinic whose language you don't speak. This is Zynea's fundamental commitment — and precisely what sets us apart from a simple clinic comparison site.

The question of warranty

The implants we use — Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Biomet — all come with an international manufacturer warranty. In the event of osseointegration failure (a rare phenomenon, but documented in global medical literature at a rate of 2 to 5%), the clinic covers the removal and replacement. Zynea coordinates the entire process at no extra cost to the patient.

Transparency as a standard, not an exception

At Zynea, we believe trust is not declared — it's demonstrated. That's why we openly share our audit process, our selection criteria, and our complication-management protocol. We have nothing to hide, because we have nothing to conceal. If a clinic no longer meets our standards, we end the partnership — even if that means fewer slots for our patients in the short term. If a surgeon changes their practice or lowers their standards, we remove them from our network. If a patient has an unsatisfactory experience, we listen, we help, and we draw the necessary conclusions. That is how a reputation is built in premium medical tourism. Not with accreditation logos on a website — but with results, processes, and a real presence when things get difficult.
